is live in san francisco with more on how students will honor the victims in newtown -- newtown, today. >> reporter: well, they plan to stand in solidarity with the students by wearing their school colors. behind me here, you can see there is a fence up around this school. that, of course, is gonna be the topic of discussion among a lot of school administrators. many schools have fences designed to keep intruders out. but if they get in, it's questionable how far they can get. california's superintendent expects more discussions about this. he's alerted all 1100 public school districts to reskew safety plans -- review safety plans. >> you minimize the risk as best you can. we can't live in fear and have every school be a closed fortress of some kind. it's a place of learning. >> reporter: some parents say sandy hook elementary had a locked door through the school but a gunman shot his way through it. state legislators say this is vulnerable. >> it's not gonna stop somebody if that's their intention. they obviously think about it and then go do it. >> reporter: as important as security,

a developing story. san francisco police say two people have been found and gagged in the middle of the street. the victims were found alive but unconscious at 8:30 p.m. we will keep you updated. >>> residents are mourning the death of a neighbor who was the victim of a deadly shooting. the victim was found shot to death outside his home. kron >> reporter: tonight police still suring for -- searching for answers while friends and family are sending out a strong message. holding candles and embracing one another, friends and neighbors gathered to remember their friend who was shot and killed last night. >> beautiful person. >> great personalities. this was a tragedy. >> reporter: police taped up the home this morning. according to investigators the 43-year-old shot multiple time in front of his home died from the wounds. tonight neighbors with a message. >> you don't need to be on the streets. >> he was a good person. >> reporter: he was neighbors with williams. he says he was a good man and he doesn't know why anyone would want to hurt him and says the violence has to stop. >> hard to believe

:05. sentencing today for a san francisco school cafeteria worker convicted of several sexual assaults. he was convicted of attacking three women in the mission district last year. one of them was beaten unconscious. he could get life in prison. the fifth suspect charged in an attack that left one man dead and a woman badly beaten is set to face a judge today. they were found bound and bagged in the middle of the street. the victims and the suspects knew each other. the final suspect is facing charges of accessory to murder and conspiracy to destroy evidence. >>> new this morning there is more fallout from the royal phone hoax. about a dozen workers at the australian radio station behind the prank call had been moved to safe houses. ten radio executives now have around the clock bodyguards because of death threats. meanwhile british investigators are disclosing more information about three suicide notes left by the nurse. two were found in the room while the other was among her personal possessions. one note dealt with the phone call. another focused on her funeral. the third criticized ho

. this is a candle light vigil held in the playground of san francisco's dolores park last night. some of the participants say they have been directly affected by gun violence. and by this most recent mass shooting. >> i work with jazz musicians, and his five year-old daughter was lost. she was bright, and fall and she had the entire world with two loving parents. inside a san francisco high rise. inspired the last federal back in july 1993. a former client of a law firm inside 101 -california street. went on a killing spree. nine people including the gunman died. six were wounded. the killer was armed with a handgun and two tech nine assault pistols. the federal ban that came out of that tragedy. expired in 2004. today, a survivor of that shooting spoke to kron4's maureen kelly about the massacre in newtown, and the renewed push for stricter gun control laws in this country. >> i was sitting in my office on the 36 floor on one, california. my secretary said that there is somebody on the party fourth floor with a gun that he is shooting people. that he is on the -- party fourth floor . >> my secretary said that he was on the 34th floor. sheldon siegal worked at the law firm targeted by the gunman .and lost many friends and collegues that day. >> what is upsetting is that it is still happening after 20 years later. it is almost like it is accepted as the regular course of events and that is a huge failure >>reporter: he says the massacre at sandy
